I will definitely second this. The greatest tool you can have when looking if something is worth grading is a white or LED light. The light will allow you to see the cards surface much better and can show marks, smears, or scuffs that wasn’t visible before. If you’re someone who is interested in selling online, getting a light box is great. You can get them from as cheap as $20, and this offers the light needed to check condition of cards, and gives you a great spot to take pictures for online listings!

Yes I’ll chime in also. I use a tomlov magnifier with the lights built in for a great price and it’s the best thing ever to see the real detail of any submission before you send it in and waste money! A hobby must have!

Wow that’s crazy! What is the magnification on that? Do you think it could show too many flaws that cant be seen with the naked eye or under light magnification? I’m not sure what PSA uses these days.

This is absolutely amazing and this thing will show you everything you need to see before sending cards in. A ten can be taken away for the slightest infraction and it’s not always our fault, it’s how they are shipped. This is the one I bought and it’s already paid for itself.

That’s really cool! I stopped using heavy magnification when doing my card reviews. I felt like I was finding really minor issues due to the magnification that PSA would not have found. I’m more aggressive with sending cards that may have minor issues. Overall, doing so has worked out for me. I have received plenty of 10s on cards that I documented minor issues on.
