• Topps Chrome NBA

I picked up 2 blasters of Topps NBA Chrome at Target. Didn’t realize they went up to $49.99 each until I got them home sadly. I ripped them and may have gotten back 4$ in cards. It was absolutely brutal.

Sadly I always find myself getting happy when Topps puts out a new chrome product but they are so vanilla, they use the same correlation for every product, a few packs, 1 refractor per blaster, a few parallels, a few inserts boom, print it. It seems like they really don’t put much effort into the flagships anymore.

I pretty much stopped ripping sports when the blasters went over $20. It’s just too hard to get your money back when base holds little to no value. During the covid boom, base cards went nuts and PSA 10s were a few hundred. It made a ton of sense back then. I also agree the correlation makes the rip kind of boring.

I agree across the board. Panini does the same too with prizm, select and mosaic. All of a sudden Topps and Panini started marking up their blasters to $50 and megas to $85. It’s hard to make money back on either.
