PSA Price Increase
Posted by slade_sports_cards on February 10, 2026 at 7:14 pmPSA has increased prices and turnaround times again. Their goal here is to get less cards and reduce their backlog. Overall it stinks, but really what other options do we have? Thoughts?

It’s a joke. This is the 3rd price hike in the last year to “discourage” submissions and help them catch up. Has it worked??? Nope. I’ve had 2 subs there since August and they still sit in the grading step.
-
Since August is INSANE. I’ve not even tried to make money off selling cards, etc., but I’d imagine a turnaround time like that can screw over a lot of good pickups. That’s a TON of time for the market to change, player to get hurt, etc. while you’re waiting on a submission to make it back to you. Sheesh!
-
This is so true. You have to kind of think 4 to 5 months out on what may happen with that player or sport to see if it makes sense. I have a big stack I was planning on sending (the price jump is making me pull some back) that are pretty much all football so at least I will still have them back before the pre-season hype!

Wow you have it way worse than me! My oldest is from December and I had a submission from September that came back a month ago or so. It’s really unfortunate and leaves every in the hobby limited choices.

Meh. I don’t collect to sell and I don’t like the way PSA slabs look, lol.
I’ll just keep collecting what I like, grading through SGC when I grade (I like the way their slabs look), and avoid PSA wherever possible unless I happen to find something affordable that’s already graded or something.
-
This is the best case. I have been sending cards for grading for over 5 years now and it has become one of my favorite parts of the hobby. I enjoy the hunt of looking for clean cards and getting them graded. I also think it is the best way to make money in the hobby but PSA is making that a lot harder. I have so many graded PSA cards, I really don’t want anything else because I like the look of them being all the same.

So if their turnaround times actually do ever improve, they’ll lower the prices right? Right???
-
They have lowered them in the past like after the covid boom for example. I’m not sure if they will this time or not but I think it will be a while before they even think about it.

It’s wild.
I’m assuming that this would be to allow them to hire more graders or something…but you KNOW they aren’t going to lower prices if they figure out how to lower turnaround times.

I’m sure the prices will drop once they’re caught up /s
-
Probably not but I think they have a lot of catching up to do before they even consider it. They have lowered them in the past.
-
I dropped my PSA membership since I don’t want to use them anymore. I’m going to use Beckett for the time being. Better value, I also really want a black label!!
-
sadly prices have gone up again and turn around times have practically doubled. They give an estimated turn around time but it seems they usually go over that and take longer.
