Ill go first.. So like many when i was a kid i collected and built sets. Had to fill binders and get all the great players especially those for the teams i loved. Yes actually more then one team. I was drawn into being able to go to spring training games and meet players and get autos. To main games and doing the same or seeing your favorite player hit that home run.
For me it was not just cardboard.. I would get packs and rip them and be at amaze to the cards i got. Then id pull out the Beckett price guide and be looking up what each players value was and when the new one came out id be looking at who went up and down.
Then as i got older i kinda lost interest in the hobby.. I would watch games and players still but the cardboard didn’t hit like it use too. Then this past year or two i randomly got a pack and the bug came back. While im not filling binders like i did i am on the mission to collect. The hobby isn’t just about selling a card but having a piece of history or that good feeling from that great moment you get. This is where my journey is at the moment and hope to keep on collecting

I started as a kid but at the time I was doing it just cause I thought the cards were cool. Nowadays I collect so it can be something that I do with my kids to spend time with them opening cards and see the excitement they get while opening packs of cards and seeing the different designs!

Thanks for asking this . I enjoy reading the answers.
I bought a very few cards when I was in my 20s. As a retired person I now have time to watch MLB games regularly. The Braves are my team. I wasn’t a big fan the whole season they won the surprise World Series in 2021 so the next season I committed to watching most of the games. To make it more interesting I decided I needed a favorite player. Strider was a young gun who showed promise and I liked what I saw in an early interviews so I chose him. And then Michael Harris’ great personality won me over too. So I checked into baseball cards and saw that boy, there are LOTS more cards than in the 1990s! I started ordering Strider and Harris cards on eBay and buying some packs.
And then the bug bit….
