I am fine with it if it works the right way. I know they are starting to do it with one of the newer NBA sets that they are starting preorders for. We shall see as the time comes

It seems like they are testing with retail product first

I’m interested to see how it affects me and how long it takes to see a difference

It’s at least nice to see Topps taking matters into stopping scalping and price gouging by people who have no desire to be apart of the Hobby just exploit it

        I definitely agree with that.

Honestly though i think scalpers will find work arounds and if this becomes the norm then eventually it will be no different than if the wrap is on them. buyers will over pay cause we know that the item is sold with out wrapping on it. Sadly we wouldnt be dealing with this if people werent shady and just trying to got over on the innocent collector.

From what I heard sealed products are going away just going to try to counter some of the retail scalping

if they do away with sealed for stores im curious what they plan to do to keep people from taking the packs out of the boxes more easily.

For the stores I think they are going to keep them behind the locked containers or keep them at customer service desks

yeah be interesting to see if they do that. so far none of my walmarts or targets have theres locked up.. though pokemon must be only out when drops happen cause havent seen any of that on the card isle like before.

I know the walmarts by me are keeping cards by the customer service desk. The target has sports cards on the shelves and then had magic the gathering and pokemon cards in the locked cases

yeah the ones by me everything is just on the normal isle by registers. nothing locked up. but im sure that will change soon.. i mean honestly they should all have it locked up like they do video games. i know it would be annoying but that would keep the scalpers from buying it all up. or those stealing and taking just the packs..

Yeah the only place by me that really does normal aisles is the Dicks Sporting Goods for the lower end product. And the hobby boxes and such they have locked away in a display case like the jewelry stores have.

yeah ive walked into my local one and they had the product on a display as you go to check out up near the registers but you can still get to it with out an employee. though ive seen people post pics of there dicks sporting goods card area and some have massive spots of cards. its so crazy that card shops keep it all behind them but retail its just out in the open

Yeah one of the employees at Dicks told me they prefer it out in the open cause they dont have to unlock it for people. Granted think only like 1 person ever has the key for the case or thats what it seems like sometimes

oh i get that. like i said i know it would be annoying to have it all locked up from a buyer stand point and the seller.. gotta to track someone down and wait for someone to open the case and get them to get the ones you want and not just give you whats first.
