I got passed down one of the Michael Jordan skybox box set things that had like 100 cards in it. Dumb me at the time not knowing anything about cards put it in a donation box thing while moving without thinking.

Thats what I am hoping. But yeah hurts a ton. Plus found out a couple years ago my mom got rid of all my first edition pokemon cards that were in a binder lol

See, I think that’s very cool. I love seeing parents collecting with their kids. Or sharing any hobby

Yeah when we went to the show in April I think it was it was weird cause didnt see a lot of kids when we went. Granted we got there super early and left after a couple hours cause of my two sons who are autistic hating crowds but still they enjoyed themselves for a bit

It depends on the show honestly..There’s some shows that definitely cater more to a younger audience, especially if they have a trade night

Yeah I know some of the local shows are geared towards kids but there are adults who can ruin it pretty quickly because they set the prices ridiculously high for something that is for kids

Not realizing some cards i had would become very valuable and didnt take care of them as great as a kid. pretty sure i had a few players error cards worth alot and like now didnt really know it cause i just collected and wasnt looking at the value of them as well as didnt learn of the error cards till i got older

Mine are unknown because once I’ve sold a card I try not to track it at all. Don’t want that regret!

Trust me you try to ignore it but the one day your watching a card show and someone is flipping it for 10x what you paid lol

Way I see it, we are all here because of decisions both good or bad, so even the heart breakers made us better collectors

Yeah with the ever changing things happening in the hobby we have to constantly be learning

I pulled a Patrick Mahomes 2nd year auto and sold it for around $100. Obviously this was before he really blew up.

well if that same person has it they know they got a great deal back then.. but yeah hard to know that someones card will go from 100 dollars to well over a few thousand dollars

My thought it, if I held most young QBs since him, the majority would have ended up as a bust.

Growing up I collected Frank Thomas cards with my Dad. We traded a lot of 90s MJs for Big hurt cards back in the day. Ouch!

Heck yeah! Loved Big Hurt. His no name card is on my all time grail list
