  • Is there any team in any sport that has NO white as a part of their uniform??

I’m a sucker for cards with fabric swatches from uniforms and noticed there are always a lot of cards with white swatches. They’re usually the cheapest. I’m thinking EVERY team has a white swatch card. But is that correct?

Can you think of any exceptions? Is there any team’s set of uniforms in any sport that has NO white at all in any version?

I’m not counting piping, just the fabric itself. Most sports use white to designate home and away but sometimes that just means light and dark, not white specifically. Surely SOME team doesn’t have any white.

I feel like every team in every sport has a white color for their jerseys. Even if its just an alternate jersey and not a primary one

I think you’re mostly right—white is basically built into uniform history across sports, especially for home/away contrast. So the vast majority of teams have had white at some point.

That said, there are a few exceptions or near-exceptions:

Some teams lean into color-only identities for stretches (certain soccer clubs, alternate-heavy NBA eras, or specialty uniforms), but even then, they usually still have a white kit somewhere in rotation—even if it’s rarely used.

So the answer is kinda frustrating… it’s almost every team, but true “zero white ever” is extremely rare if not basically nonexistent over time.

Which is why you see so many white swatches—they’re just the most common jersey material produced.

If anything, makes the non-white patches feel that much more like a hit

Soccer probably comes closest since some teams lean hard into color, but even then they usually rotate in a white/light kit for contrast

😂 even NASCAR isn’t safe—yeah I think every sport finds a way to sneak white/light in somewhere

Collecting cards and having conversations here both make me think of all kinds of things I hadn’t thought of before!

Yep that’s where I started. But I was hoping someone on here was superknowledgable about some sport that has an exception. I was wondering if there was some “villain” type team that had NO white at all. I thought of the Raiders first but I’ve seen them wear white. Surely some owner of some team was like “I HATE white. My teams are forbidden to wear ANY white at all. They can wear gray for their light color.” 😂

Yeah i think the owners will get fined if they try it and if its a league wide thing that fine may be hefty
