Okay lets do something different. Have you gone to meet a player or athlete who you felt was rude or just didnt seem nice? Tell us about that experiance. we here all the man so and so was so nice and very giving and such. Not trying to put a dark cloud on anyone just we all are human and not all athletes are warm and fuzzy.

For me was hulk hogan.. Meet him at and meet and greet and just seemed standoffish and rushing and not a people person at the time. and well i get it could just have been one of those days.. and i would chalk it up to that but i have heard other say the same about him.. Excellent wrestler and did alot of good things in the communities.. And deep down im sure was the most humble person.. May he rest easy now though..

So this is a lil different but I have pre bought Ray Park’s auto (Darth Maul in Episode 1) at 3 different cons and he has cancelled at the last moment to every single one 😂

I watched a show with Hogan’s daughter and from what she said he wasn’t the greatest dad, so maybe he was just generally a jerk. Sometimes if I really like a famous person and have the chance to interact I hesitate because I know they might be rude and spoil my impression of them. And sometimes they might just be having a bad day. I for sure have been a jerk to people at times when they did NOT deserve it! I’m most impressed with people who show up and sign and treat EVERY single person like a person who matters. That says so much about who they are. That I look up to!

That’s very cool! I’d bet a lot of the negative stuff was jealousy. Some people have trouble being happy for other people’s success. Especially in high school

Never met someone who was rude but as far as unexpected I met Darius Slay in a bowling alley in Brunswick, GA where hes from. He was really nice and not at all boastful or anything. Didnt find out until later that it was him cause my buddy was like do you not know who that dude was?!? I had been chatting with him for like 30 mins while having drinks

I think another aspect of this i should have included is do you feel theres someone youve watched or known before they made it big that it seems there attitude and such changed due to all the fame and money?

I heard Mark Maguire told a little kid he would t sign his baseball after he waited hours in spring training he was one of my favorite players but to me it’s unexepectable to treat your young fans like that left a bad taste of him for me now I wint even collect his cards .. the boy even said he was his favorite player and drove with his dad 10 hrs just for him . I don’t care how big of a star you are you treat your fans like crap I could care less about the athlete .

Ray Bourque was an absolute grouch when I met him at a fan fest leading up to the last time the Winter Classic was in Boston.

I’ve met a ton of Red Sox and Bruins players and the vast majority were at the minimum very pleasant and some went above and beyond (Patrice Bergeron, Dennis Eckersley, Jim Rice were a ton of fun!)
