• Have you noticed changes in the quality of USPS with eBay?

I’m focusing on buying singles for my PC instead of ripping so I order most cards on eBay. I’ve had more problems in the past few months than the past few years put together. I see lots of comments on trading card social media sites saying the same thing.

I was in my local PO recently and a guy was trying to overnight a package. The PO worker said they no longer do overnight delivery—along with making other big changes in March. I think that’s what we’re seeing. Comments indicate that a lot from the seller’s end depends on your local PO. I’ve had sellers contact me to say my order got returned to them and they’d sent them the same way they’ve been sending for years.

So far the sellers have been great, but I feel for you guys who sell on eBay and are having hassles you never had before.

I have been fortunate that my PO hasn’t cut back on services. I do know they recently arrested a PO manager in Houston for stealing slabs out of the mail. I can’t prove it but I think I was apart of it too, got a envelope ripped open. Supposed to be a Jordan slab. Luckily the seller was super awesome and refunded me, he really didn’t even have to because it wasn’t his fault.

Wow! I bet you’re right, that he got your slab. I bet that kind of thing goes on more than we’d guess. I’m sure it’s why Panini has that tape on its boxes warning if it’s broken

Its weird cause i sell on ebay and have had no issues. Maybe one card lost in transit but everything seems to get where its going even with there ebay standard shipping which honestly i do hate but on a price point its the best for when my low end cards sell. my mid to high end that i have i always set the shipping to ground advantage so theres tracking. good tracking.. But i have heard alot of stories from other sellers who have had nothing but issues and this is from some who dont even deal with sports cards but are just resellers of things.

I hope your good luck continues. The most problems seem to be in the regular envelopes that used to go through machines so much better. I’m seeing some saying they might have to go with tracked mail for all price points.

It’s so interesting to me to see the BIG variety of ways folks choose to send cards. Some are way too flimsy. I usually contact them in a message to tell them they need something thicker. Others it’s like trying to get into Ft. Knox with ALL of the tape they use on the package and then inside with painter’s tape. One I got yesterday was taped and taped and taped. Those cards were NOT going to move in transit
