• How do YOU define a PC card?

Curious how everyone here decides what they keep for their PC.

For me, it’s less about value and more about history — cards that remind me of watching games with my dad.

Do you all keep strict PCs or do you tend to stay more open to selling/trading if the right opportunity comes along?

    Hey @dapperdan!
For me, it’s about how much I like the card. Sometimes, I just like them because they’re cool or interesting and I’ll keep ’em forever. Other times, I’ll hold onto something until I get bored of it. Not much rhyme or reason to it on my end, lol

I’m much the same way, so I get that!

Hey, @dapperdan, I only buy stuff to hold onto or actually play with…so I guess everything is a PC for me. haha!

Lol, I’m mostly the same. I just keep stuff I like…not in it to make money off collecting (at least not yet!)

For me I try to find rare’er cards but I’ve categorically considered my pc to consist of two players. Tony Gwynn and Roger staubach. The rest are just there 😂

To me a PC card is a card that will never go anywhere unless someone offers me a stupid amount.

Too many people these days say a card is going into a PC and then 3 weeks later you see them flipping it. HAHA.

I also like to choose obscure things cuz if its obscure, its harder to sell (harder to find sometimes too haha) but I AM one of those people I mentioned, I will sell anything if the price is right. Luckily nobody but me wants Kerry Collins’ cards so I PC him and its nice and cheap to do so 🙂

I think you can define it in many ways. Me personally I tend to not care about value or rarity, I collect stuff I think is cool of players or teams I like. I don’t always agree a PC card has to be untouchable. In the past I have sold PC cards, but only when I am looking to move into bigger PC cards. I don’t usually look for expensive ones, but sometimes the one I want just happens to be valuable.

I have recently been having this internal discussion for the past few months so seeing it posted here was great to see other opinions. I started collecting cards in 1987 and collected A LOT of what we all know now as junk wax. Back then I had a list of players that were my favorite players and I would collect all of their cards and save them in binders. So much easier when there were 50 different insert versions! I recently took stock of who I had on that “favorite” list and discovered I had about 150 players!!! No wonder my cards were taking over the house! I’ve been cutting out players and making decisions on who I really want to keep and who is just a fad for the moment. Plus, I’m not keeping every single parallel of a card or multiple copies of a card. Still get carried away with prospects sometimes but eventually get over most of them and end up selling what I can on Collx. Still a work in progress, that’s for sure but I have a feeling it will always be changing.

To me a PC card is a player i love or a team or even just if its a card that has some big meaning behind it. From a card gifted by like grandma or grandpa or that first card you ever got out of a pack. Theres alot of variables to PC’s i feel But above anything have fun collecting
