I happened to be in Walmart on the same day that they had stocked the super boxes and I bought one. I didn’t hit anything worth writing home about. Was hoping for the Maxx Crosby funko mini but had to just go buy it on eBay instead. 😉 Got the Christian McCaffrey jumbo card and not sure what I’ll do with that. I’m not sure I’ll be able to find a way to ship it safely if I were to sell it.

they make card sleeves for the jumbo cards and even i think top loaders. or the thing for comics. Im debating to just hold it and resell sealed or just have fun ripping and who knows what
-
One of the things I like about it is that it’s at a price point that makes it super rippable without “needing” a hit to pay for it. Brings back a bit of that junk wax era nostalgia when you don’t have to spend 600 to rip some packs.

I also enjoy this set because of the price point. Makes the whole experience better. I have a ton of it now but it was fun and worth it. I made some binders with 20 pages, 9 cards per page, and the center card is an insert that is at least $1 – $2. They are going to be $28. See how that goes. I made sure to add rookies and other inserts to each page. Not worth hundreds or anything haha but may catch someone’s eye!

thats an interesting idea and way to sell some cards. hope your cost with binder and all is low to make a profit somewhat

I can’t say there’s huge profit in it. It’s just trying to find ways to move the bulk common cards. In that deal the cards end up being .15 a piece. Just have to find the right buyers. I don’t open a crazy amount of packs / boxes, but enough where the cards add up quickly haha
-
yeah i didnt think there was alot of profit margin but hey few bucks here still ads up.

Yeah, that’s a nice card! I’ve got the Bowers out of this set and they’re nicely designed.
I do feel like the retail versions tend to be much more hit or miss as far as any good hits. But, good for getting some base for the PC and hopefully a hit or two.
-
yeah they are and well we all know retail is more of a hit or miss compared to hobby. i feel they need to balance it more but thats a debate long for the ages
-
yeah, I wish they would balance it more. It’s so hard to get any of it in most cases, that it may not make a difference anyways, but still would be nice. Some of the exclusive to hobby or exclusive to retail or this retailer or that retailer is also cool, but just adds one more variation to try and chase.
-
yeah. the exclusives are nice. and they have slowly gotten better but could do more and maybe one day will. just adult collector trying to be a kid and ripping retail haha
