Cam Schlittler has arrived
Posted by kyberforged on September 30, 2026 at 9:59 amCam Schlittler has to be one of the more interesting names in baseball cards right now.
The Yankees rookie just went out and absolutely dominated the Red Sox in Game 1, throwing 6⅓ scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts in a 9-0 win. That’s the kind of postseason performance that can put a young player on a completely different hobby radar.
I’m curious how everyone feels about his cards going forward. Is Schlittler someone you’d be buying now, or are you waiting to see if he can sustain this level of success?
Young Yankees pitcher + October baseball is usually a pretty interesting combination.

I was todays years old when I realized he was a rookie lol then again dont really follow the Yankees at all. I may wait to see how he does in coming seasons cause that second season slump does happen most of the time

Pitchers can have such weird year-to-year swings, and if he puts together another strong season next year, you’ll have a much better idea of whether this is the start of something or just a really good rookie run.

Back to back strong seasons would blow his market up for sure

Its so much harder for pitchers get market love too so good for him

Was tough to see that against my team, but can’t deny that performance. I do have an auto redemption of Schlittler coming in so from a collector standpoint, I am excited haha
-
I mean considering most people were writing yall off you had a successful season
-
Yankees honestly have done a great job in the farm system past few years, weird to say about the Yankees
-
No denying their team. Solid group of players for sure.

I can’t complain. The fact we are in any playoff situation is amazing haha
-
Yeah you could be like my team, always have the best record in baseball in April then never seen again lol

Okay you win haha I at least had some excitement!

My prediction is that he blows his arm out like everyone else. So no, do not buy for long term. I learned the hard way with Strider. So many of my early Strider cards have tanked in value. But as you can see I still collect him because I do like him no matter how well he does now. The human body can’t tolerate the motion it takes to throw at 100 mph. All of these pitchers are going to have surgeries and shortened careers. I’m honestly hoping for exceptions but am concerned there will be none.

I agree that is a lot for the body take. I hope I get the redemption I redeemed gets here sometime this year haha Maybe it will be perfect timing after they win the World Series.
-
IF they win the World Series then hang onto that card! But when they don’t sell it quickly before his arm goes out.
-
As a Red Sox fan who just took a beating, I don’t want them to win, but as a person who has Judge and Schlittler cards, I would not be mad if they won. It is a tough position to be in haha
