• First submission to Degree grading

Posted by KJXploR on May 5, 2026 at 5:44 pm

I’ll be putting my intro order of 5 cards for $50 in the mail to Degree tomorrow. I had trouble deciding which 5 to send. I thought I was going to send all different types of cards but ended up sending 2 Topps Now ones because I want them slabbed for my PC.

I know for sure that the Austin Riley cherry blossom has flaws because there’s an obvious dimple plus at least one corner is suspect. But I want to see how much those flaws ding a the grade. The other cards look good to me, but maybe I’m missing something.

This is the first time I’m choosing the cards myself. I have 10 cards at PSA right now and got my hobby shop to help me choose those as well as send them for me. So we’ll see how I do without guidance!

These are all cards for my PC. I’m experimenting to see how much I like the Degree look and their slabs. And their process. They make it easy with their $5 submission box that has everything you need. Now to see how long it takes. Not nearly as long as PSA for sure.

Good attitude. I was the same way. i wasn’t worried about the grades more the experiance and how the cards looked in there slabs and sleeves that send them in.. plus the not so boring box like psa does.

I look forward to when I finally get the PSA ones that were sent in mid-February. That will tell me a lot about the ones I think might have some value. The ones I sent today are just for looks lol

Do any of you have experience with TAG in comparison to Degree?

I don’t but am considering trying them and some others just to have personal experience with each for comparison. I’m thinking I’ll do this with some PC cards I’d like to have slabbed. For value and possible resale I’m still thinking PSA

I have submissions with both right now. Degree often a little quicker, definately cheaper. With TCGs, Degree is less known, so harder to comp, so can be harder to sell. However, if something niche, for personal collection, or willing to hold on to longer – degree slabs are great.

I’m doing Degree just for my PC, thinking I’ll like their slabbed look. But also curious about their grading process and how the cards I sent come out. I figure for anything worth selling PSA is the way to go because it sure seems to hold better value.

Anxiously awaiting the new carbon black slabs degree is debuting sometime in the future.

I’m not sure if I’ll like black. But I know lots of people will!

Yeah I’m going to opt for it for certain cards that I think will look good in that color slab

You’re right, some cards will look great in black!

Yea they really do. The tag slabs can be nice too, but I really like the degree ones (and the slab sleeves they come in).

Smart to be choosing the cards you want in black. I can really struggle with choosing cards for grading!
