My first PSA order
When I walked into the hobby shop today to pick up the cards they sent off to PSA for me in February the guy who had waited on me Sunday said, “”You’re gonna be pleased.” I asked if I had any upgrades (because the guy who called yesterday afternoon had forgotten to check) and he said yes. I was hoping I would!
So… to cut to the chase, of the 10 cards I submitted, 5 got 10s. Then 4 got 9s and another got an 8.
The shop guy was most excited about the first two in my photos below, a Caitlin Clark rookie Prizm Orange Velocity and a Deion Sanders 2025 Braves Prizm Color Blast. They both got 10s.
Believe it or not I got the two Caitlin Clark Orange Prizms in a hanger pack. Yes, both in one hanger pack! But one graded 10 and the other graded 8. I got the Deion in a break I bought into for about 30 bucks.
I bought the Caitlin Jungle for $200-something as soon as Panini released it online. I sat there with my finger ready to order as soon as the clock counted down. I was super surprised I was lucky enough to get it since it was /25. (I’m a little bummed it didn’t grade a 10).
I also got the Caitlin All Rookie and All WNBA directly from Panini. The two Caitlin draft cards and Strider and Baldwin I bought from someone on eBay.
All in all I reckon I came out pretty well. The guy at the stop said I did better than anyone else they sent off cards for in this bunch.

It’s not showing up there. Sometimes it does for me and sometimes it doesn’t. So I deleted and reposted with the correction. Thanks for pointing that out (in such a gracious way).

I recently got my first sub back aswell 3 wemby got 2 9s and a 10. The 1 10 had a pop 14 and a 15 percent gem rate so very pleased with that one

That’s a great return! I *want* all 10s but know that’s not realistic. 9s are top quality too. I expect Wemby is ultimately a great investment.

Congrats on the grades! I currently have a pretty large order at PSA that I am itching to get back. I have about 215 cards I submitted in May just before they closed value tiers. There is about 70 Jordans and a mix of Shohei, Kobe, Griffey, and a few others in there as well. Also did a Vintage sub that I am hoping to see some decent grades on.
Part of me feels like I’m about to get burned. They are really tough on grading the 90s inserts for Jordan. I need to get that order back so i can sell some stuff and afford to send more, lol. I already have a big stack building up to grade once they reopen the lower tiers.

oh i bet and hope you dont get burned. hope you also dont get hit with lots of upcharges. though if upcharges then means certain cards are more valuable then probably thought

with an order like that and vintage i bet you are.. i still think upcharges shouldnt be a thing. but i do hope you get some massive grades

Hoping you dont get too badly burned and do get a few upcharges! Holding out on sending til they open the value tier and have a stack slowly growing

sadly im doing that too.. while degree will get alot of my buisness theres a few cards that i really want in a psa slab. though becket would be the next best in a way

Yeah ive got two degree piles (waiting on the chrome black slabs) and a psa pile going for grading with the understanding Degree is all PC

Your cards are in a total ‘nother class! I can’t imagine that you’ll get burned. PSA surely was excited to get your order and put one of their best people on it. I expect you’re have HUGE upcharge—which is exactly what you want. I’m still amazed at what you have! And I’m glad you decided to share some of your truly amazing collection and didn’t worry about how much more your collection is worth than … well, say mine. My perspective has been that this is a place to share what we enjoy and the “quality” isn’t a big factor. We all collect at the level we can or want to afford and that’s just fine. It can be just as much fun for me to get another 5 buck Strider swatch card that fills in a gap in my collection as one a card worth 10x that. Though if I pulled one of those million dollar cards from a blaster I WOULD get more excited than about the 5 buck Strider swatch. 😁

i agree as well but they really need to do away with upcharges or at least show proof of extra steps done and what extra they did to grade and preserve the card. i mean if they only did the same and spent the same time on a 10k card as they did that 50 dollar one then to me why am i paying more just cause the card value is more. the service done didnt change or the amount of time spent and such.. they really need to figure something out and get more transparent too.. heck find a way to let us know why a card graded like it did..
