• Topps vs Panini

Do we think Topps is gaining momentum to match Panini in collecting basketball or are the high prices for Finest keeping collectors with Panini? I personally like that we have another option since Panini quality is terrible IMO.

Panini is cool but they are going to have to restructure. The unlicensed stuff is a nice alternative but 99% of is junk cards with the occasional nice auto. Leaf and Wild Card get by because they dip more into the niche. I think Panini is trying to be Topps but cheaper and I don’t see that making it long term

WildCard and leaf should get more love.. They are for sure Niche though leaf is a little overboard with autos. like they push out autos like crazy..

Such a fun rip though lol I’ve found all kinds of weird stuff for customers. Ripped one of the Bronx sets, had a quad auto of the last 4 Yankees managers. Basically everything manager since the 70s

I havent collected panini as much but they do make some good sets and looking cards.. the real thing will be once they dont have the licensing anymore will anyone be buying there stuff still.. or the value of it go down or up

I think once licensing runs out, collectors will move to Topps since that’s probably the only thing keeping them to begin with. Their increased pricing has been insane after Covid

true true.. i mean between topps and panini they made some okay stuff but lately i feel have bombed on there designs and such.. and as a collector i dont think it will matter as much as to what brand if the card is cool and a great design and card of that player your wanting..

Agreed, I have 0 loyalty to a brand, if a card is dope , a card is dope
