Typical PSA wait time now
Posted by KJXploR on April 16, 2026 at 10:44 amHow long is PSA taking to complete grading right now? Anybody recently gotten an order and can share how long it took?
I sent 10 cards on February 15th and am guessing at least 2 months if not more. But 2 months is now… so maybe soon?? I sent the cards through my local hobby shop

2 months is way too short. I have some still there from November. Right now, the wait is probably 4-6 months for value.
-
Is there ever a slow season or good time to send cards in?
-
i would say there isnt.. and with there increase in prices and wait times now dont think there will be a good time to really send in unless your paying for express or one of the higher level services. I know ive heard some people say theyve gotten there order back quick but i think they used a higher level of service and not the value service. My first order even to be vaulted still took them 4 months to do and this was before they did the first price increase and wait times.

4-6 months! Wow. They’re really grading a LOT of cards apparently. I’m guessing grading cards has really taken off
-
Yeah thats insane. Thankfully I’m using Degree which doesnt seem to be a long wait and I’ll just buy PSA graded ones as I find them at shows or something lol
-
yeah lots of people sending in cards for grading. expecially since they took over sgc and i think becket is part of there family now.
-
I did not know they took over sgc cause was debating some to sgc based off wait times. May just end up sticking with degree
-
i believe it was sgc .. let me look really quick. dont want to be giving wrong info
Collectors Holdings, the parent company of PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator), has recently acquired two major competitor grading firms to dominate the market: <mark jsaction=”” jscontroller=”DfH0l” data-sfc-root=”c” jsuid=”fj0OVb_h” data-sfc-cb=””><strong jsaction=”” jscontroller=”zYmgkd” data-sfc-root=”c” jsuid=”fj0OVb_i” data-sfc-cb=””>SGC (Sportscard Guaranty Corporation) in February 2024 and <strong jsaction=”” jscontroller=”zYmgkd” data-sfc-root=”c” jsuid=”fj0OVb_j” data-sfc-cb=””>Beckett Collectibles (BGS) in December 2025</mark>. These acquisitions placed PSA, SGC, and Beckett under one umbrella, controlling approximately 75%–79% of the trading card grading industry.
And from what i have heard sgc is not more of a boutique. comix grading mostly.

Goodness gracious. I mean not really grading to sell so gonna stick to Degree. First order is awaiting shipment back to me so excited. Will just buy PSA slabs to save the wait lol
-
yeah i mean psa is still the golden child.. still worth it if its cards that you can wait on and not gonna loose value while they have them. Degree is for sure nice. ultimatly i like that you get told why you got the grade you did.. Im also gonna look into TAG. There another one that seems to be making headway
-
I’m glad y’all are sharing other graders you’ve tried. It helps me in considering them and having an idea what to expect. Thanks for the recs!
-
Degree is up and coming. Found them on Facebook cause they have a 5 cards for 50 dollar deal for your first submission and they are pretty quick

So Collectors owns PSA, SGC and BGS. Here’s some stats on the number of cards graded per month:
January:
PSA: 1.91m
CGC, BGS, SGC, TAG: 603,000
February:
PSA: 1.86m
CGC, BGS, SGC, TAG: 624,000
March:
PSA: 2.17m
CGC, BGS, SGC, TAG: 800,000
The majority of these cards are TCG.
-
That is insane but not surprising that most are TCG since everyone is getting into TCG again
-
Wow. Just wow!! Thanks for sharing. Sooooo interesting. Now I you’ll have me researching past years. We’re in a boom right now aren’t we?
-
Yeah TCG boom is insane as are all cards I feel like. But have seen card shows just dedicated to Pokemon
-
If you have a Instagram, follow a page called Gem Rate. Pokémon made this boom.
-
I’m now following that page. If you have other Insta pages you recommend I’d love a list. Maybe even a video taking about the different social media sites that could be helpful to us collectors?
-
-
yes we are in a boom. and some worry things will crash at some point. but tcg for sure has surged. especially with so many thefts of it now.
-
Thefts? People stealing cards? I remember reading about some really pricy cards being stolen at a show. But is it happening a lot? I guess I should assume it is since there are cards that bring BIG BIG bucks
-
-
-
Thanks for the more clerity in it. and yeah i kinda figured tcg was taking over things for a bit. its insane.

Fascinating that Pokemon caused the boom. I’ll follow that page on Instagram. I find all of this very interesting. I don’t collect Pokemon but have a friend who just started. I’m wondering if the Covid time of not going out sent more people into card collecting/trading/flipping
-
That is a good point. Didnt even think of Covid effecting the hobby at all
-
It sure seems to be booming right now, and there’s a cause. But what the cause is (many causes are) is the question, at least for me. I wonder if there will be a crash. How long can collecting boom? That’s one reason for me to focus on my PC. It will have value for me no matter boom or bust in the hobby
