Honestly its great to hear another collector say that. we seem to be so stuck on 10 in the hobby. i get it for a resell value.

This one is a little different. 1999 Pokémon Base Set Pack PSA 8. Feels like yesterday I was opening these for $5 as a kid! I went through a kick where I was buying vintage Pokémon packs and grading them. I love the fact that it protects the pack, verifies its real/not resealed and makes it easy to display.
-
man i wonder anyone who has a graded pack how many have been tempted to crack it open and rip.. have you ever though it or proudly keeping it slabbed for eternity?
-
I’m volunteering to crack open that plastic and rip that pack! 🤣
-
lol nope! I bought it ungraded and eventually had it slabbed. I have a lot of sealed and it does not tempt me at all!
-
-
Thats pretty neat though! Never thought to get packs graded so definately something unique for sure. Does make you wonder if theres any cool cards in there though!
-
that is for sure. ive seen other packs slabbed and ive seen a few creators crack slabs and open the packs just to get cooked
-
-
did u “ weigh” the pack to see if the method was real lol
-
lol. Seriously though, what’s to stop them from opening it, taking the cards, replacing them with bulk, resealing and then “verifying” it and slabbing it? Sure, somebody might eventually give in to temptation and crack and rip it, but I had to wonder.
-
-
Wouldn’t it? I’m about 100% sure they’d get busted for it at some point for sure cause there will be someone who cracks and rips a pack or two. I know I’ve seen videos where that’s happened. But the percentage of packs that get cracked and ripped has to be pretty small. What if it was just one rogue grader who just did a few packs here and there?
-
Oh for sure theyd get busted and itd be a scandel but then people would go right back to using them
-
imagine they rip it then reseal but with no thoight of someone cracking the slab to rip the pack
-

I really think this is going to be a space in the hobby that starts to grow rapidly in the near future. Slabbed packs of iconic sets and signed packs are going to really take off soon, imo.

I’m pretty sure there’s NO way I could have a pack for that long and not open it. No way. Just seeing it in plastic makes gives me the heebie jeebies. Whew I admire your self restraint!! It looks great but everything in me says “OPEN THAT PACK!!!” 🤣
-
Yeah the temptation has got to be real! Especially with the growing popularity of Pokemon
-
*I* can’t even make myself wait until the next day to rip a pack if I have it. Wait for DECADES?? I’d have to completely misplace the pack the same day I got it!
-
Yeah I’ve tried to hold off on opening packs until a couple days but make it maybe 10 minutes after walking into my house with it
-
-
-
I just know that ripping it and not getting a holo would be a huge loss! Plus, I have 3 base set Charizards so id rather just have the pack for my collection.
-
oh thats understandable.. more valuable like that then ripping for a chance to get cooked
