Sad day for longtime Braves fans. Bobby Cox was one of the very best.

Who are your picks? And do you collect their cards?

And I realize I’ve been saying “variant” when I really mean parallel. Since Fanatics took over Topps it seems to me that Topps has gone the way of bunches of parallels. The first year I started collecting was 2022 and there was such a bigger variety of Topps cards (pre-Fanatics). Sets that don’t exist anymore. But I know it’s because it’s cheaper to make a bunch of cards with the same design and different border colors than producing a whole new card with a different design. Makes me think my collection focus might go to 2022 and earlier where there was such a variety of card designs.

Thanks! I was hoping you’d answer. I’d love a video about this where you show examples with cards you have.

Most don’t make it. It’s SO hard to get to the top level of any sport. Those athletes are truly elite. And it takes some lucky breaks along with good health and no (or few) injuries.

Card Ladder seems to be the go-to for comps
-
I’ve used it some but it doesn’t pull up a lot of cards I’ve scanned so I have to add them manually.
-
I’m not even sure. I know people use them for comps for sales but I’m guessing there are lots of uses.

I like Topps too. And it holds value best…at least so far

I’ve already started looking!

I really like that set a lot. The graphics were great.

And guess what? January 2022 is when Fanatics bought out Topps. And there you have it. Fanatics is ALL about profits

It looks to me like they decided to add LOTS of variations within sets rather than have as many sets. Which makes sense for profits because they can just change add frame colors rather than print whole new cards. BUT I liked the different sets! That might mean I focus more of my collection on pre-2023 sets!
