I bet LOTS of people are upset they didn’t buy Jordan back then. It really is crazy that his cards were ever cheap. After watching the documentary about him I wondered why I didn’t make the effort to see him play. But then I never went to see Lebron play either. I remember a friend almost apologizing for making a trip to see Lebron play as if people thought that was silly. But I think she was smart to do that and will never regret seeing him play in person.

If I were going to expand into NBA Kerr might well be on my list. I did get a Kerr card one time when I bought a couple of NBA blasters and wondered if I should PC him. He’s an impressive guy in so many ways. Thanks for the background on Bagent. That’s a cool story. And now I’m rooting for him to get playing time!

I hadn’t thought of the influence of video games. Of course they can contribute to who we choose to collect! I’m curious as to why you collect Tyson Bagent and Steve Kerr. I could guess with Kerr but want to know if that guess is right. I confess I don’t know who Bagent is

Would you say mostly top dogs or think-they-will be top dogs? Anyone who doesn’t fit this? You’re gonna have to think about all of who you collect in order to answer this! lol

Now that I think of it collecting isn’t really like rooting for. We usually choose to collect an athlete because we think they’re GOOD.. And if we can afford it we collect those we think are GOATs. I bet most collectors initially choose players they think are especially good. And if we find someone later (like Brady for you) it’s because he/she is exceptional. He made me a believer when he took Tampa to win the Super Bowl.

Oh I think no admission really does figure into a lot of family budgets. You’ll have people who otherwise would not be there with their kids. Now they think “hey we can buy a couple of cards or some food” and they’re more likely to go. As I said, kudos to you. Not a lot of people think like you and I really appreciate those who DO. The ripple effect of what you’re doing is a lot bigger than what you can see. And it’s very positive!
