So quick update on this. They eventually got back to me and determined that the one card needed relabeling. They said they’d send a return label to do so, but I haven’t seen it yet and just followed up earlier today another time to try and get one. So, I’m hoping they’re just busy and customer service is a bit slow and it eventually happens. I guess we’ll see.

Ultimately, it’s for my PC, so I’m not as concerned if it never gets fixed, but it would still be nice if it did.

I just like watching a good game. I used to play fantasy football, but haven’t been a part of a good league in a bit so pretty much stopped that. I do a few pick the winner things and just watch to see some plays.

Food doesn’t really come into play for me until the super bowl when we get together with some friends and deep fry everything.

I think we see the Bears and the Rams in the NFC championship. The lions have an outside chance. Ultimately, the Rams win and are in.

The AFC is a bit muddier. Pats? Broncos? Maybe? I’d really like to see the Bills get there, but I don’t know that they made enough moves to do so. The Pats made some nice moves as much as it pains me to say that.

I’m somewhat mixed on Wild Card. On the one hand, I like their designs and think they really bring something that’s a bit outside of the ordinary to the market. Panini and Topps have added slightly wilder designs, likely in part to the popularity of Wild Card. The thing I don’t like is just the numbering and the 20 1/1’s in every set of every player. Most are almost impossible to tell the difference between. I think I’d be a little less “on them” about it if they were noticeably different.

I think the answer will sort of depend on the economy. If the economy keeps climbing regardless of anything else, there’s still gonna be people pushing the market for cards. I’d gladly pay 13m for a card. Mostly because that means I had 13m as disposable income. Or to invest. Either way, I’d be cool with that. 🙂

Well, sure, that would be cool, but I don’t see it happen. The Bills might have a shot, but the rest? meh.

We usually tailgate the local university (we’re alumni) I guess so that has to count for something.

I would really like for it to be the Lions year. I’m not convinced just yet, but we’ll see. If they can stay healthy, they might be able to make a good run. It’s weird to say it, but I think the Bears are in their way.

Yeah. I think some of that is just the hype still though. I’ll be watching prices as they continue to sit to see if the hype stays or if it drops off some.

I think as new sets release that might also help drop some of the prices.

Yeah. For a variety of reasons, I sort of hope they end up sitting him the entire season. 1, that means that Cousins plays well and we don’t have to rush him. And 2, without any major accolades throughout the season, that might make some of his RCs a bit more affordable. $4-5 for base RC is sort of crazy at the moment.

Mostly it just lets the hype cool a bit. Give it until offseason and see what happens. The down side is that if the rookie goes off and has a really good year, the more rare cards (autos, patches, /50 or less) are still just as expensive or more so, but the base and less rare ones usually come down a lot.

Yeah, I usually do the same. I got burned a few times when I got back into the hobby on going after fancier rookie cards then found I could buy them for 50% or less if I just waited a year.

Yeah, for sure. I don’t remember any of the breaks for the Raiders being so high last year even with Jeanty. But, yeah, the #1 pick and a QB is about as big as it gets.

I should have probably mentioned that part. It was shipped well. In a bubble mailer and a very elaborate (fancy) cardboard box and holder. It was just the sleeving that I felt was a bit silly.

If you’re gonna throw a anti-tamper sticker on, find a way to do it that I can still use any of the common display options. The sticker was huge, and it was clearly visible from the front so it was a no go if I wanted to display the card at all.
