Ahh okay, that actually makes more sense. The comparison to a live break is pretty spot on—you know the floor going in, but there’s still a chance you hit something really good. I can definitely see the appeal more now.

I was the same way when I first heard about it. I’d probably be more comfortable with it after hearing from people who have actually used it and gotten their cards back. Definitely curious what everyone else’s experience has been.

Yeah I saw that Jeanty auto too, that one definitely caught my attention. Sounds like I might have to grab some of this set before everyone else cleans out the local shops 😂

Yeah, seeing those color match autos definitely makes it tempting 😂 I might have to grab a couple packs and see what I can pull.

That’s actually a pretty cool reason to have the Jeter card. Going to one of his last games makes it way more personal than just picking up another Jeter card. And yeah, you can never really go wrong with Griffey cards

Even vintage got an upgrade from the old days. One auto I considered but ultimately decided to wait is Bo Jackson (he goes to the National every year too) I was going with a blue Staedtler pen (it’s what all the companies use for autos now) on his Topps rookie but $230 on top of the rest of those is a hard stretch, especially trying to save up for Star Wars celebration lol

Yeah I think it almost makes the card feel like a real Topps Inscription card at that point

I know, I’m so excited! The card show Saturday looks so fun, and It’s going to be so cool to have Sal in the shop.

Oh yeah different surfaces different prep. Chrome surface use a high polymer eraser over the auto area then wipe eraser dust with a microfiber cloth. Only the Matt McLain is chrome though. Topps now, Triple Threads, and Series 2 all paper sets, so just need to wipe with a good microfiber. Good practice too is have prep cards to test the marker on so you make sure the ink is flowing. I’ll have a prep chrome and paper cards in my kit to get the markers prepped while in line.

I have never done a metallic paint pen auto before though so that part does make me nervous. lol I got a metallic black paint pen.

Plus an added bonus I was at that game, Stadium went crazy

Was a huge play last season, basically if Nolevi doesn’t catch that ball, the Pirates would have won and the Reds would have never made the Playoffs last year

Yeah funny story, I saw it on eBay and realized one of my viewers was selling it and he’s local so we were able to cut eBay out of it and he just brought it into the shop lol
