  • Yes and this will definitely be my first PSA upcharge lol my estimate is post encapsulation, if I can get 10 autos and a card grade of at least 8(very rare for sketches to grade that high) it’s going to be a $3k-$5k card

Honestly if I really love a card and an in person auto is obtainable, I’ll get it signed, autoed and slabbed and chase the Auto 10 instead

I’d check Google. I have a lot of Florida friends who hit up card shows all the time. So there’s definitely a lot.

I am a huge Reds fan and was a huge fan of certain players, not the biggest names but they are in my PC. Chris Sabo, Adam Dunn, Brandon Phillips, Jay Bruce, Eric Davis, Barry Larkin, Sean Casey, etc

Honestly I think PSA 8s are pretty underrated. If they’re only a little more than raw, I’d rather buy the slab every time. You know it’s authentic, it’s protected, and if I ever decide to move it later it’s usually an easier sell.

PSA 9s are where I think you start seeing a real difference, but I also think it depends on the card. If pops get crazy, the premium can disappear pretty quick.

Either way, if you’re an Umbreon collector first and an investor second, I think you made the right call. I’d be interested to see an update in a year and see how the raw vs. graded prices actually compare.

It’s one of those cards that makes you wish Jordan signed. Imagine that card with a red ink auto

I always wonder what my grandpa would think of the hobby today? In his day it was about building sets. Now its numbered, colors, SSPs, autos etc.

I will say I do understand the utility of sticker autos, hard to logistically coordinate all those sets with autos and card design but I believe there’s a certain numbered level where autos should never be stickered. For me everything /25 & lower should be an on card.

  • Oh yeah it helps so much, gives you a good idea what the final product could look like and plan accordingly. Kind of the card equivalent of measure twice cut once lol
