So far, the only way that I’ve really used for any period of time is eBay. I’ve begun experimenting with Whatnot and recently with Collx. None of them is perfect and many just have their own quirks, I guess.

For the short term, I’m going to keep it up with those and see what happens.

That’s awesome. Congratulations to the winners. All three deserve it. Nothing but very welcoming to new members (like me).

I’m a Raiders fan, so Mendoza all day. Still looking for good Crosby, Jeanty, and Bowers. I used to look for some of those older, legacy players, but they seem to always just use the same photos and such and it borders on super-artificial scarcity to me.

I picked up a couple of the anime nation cards. Jeanty from last year and Mendoza from this year. They’re fun. Not 1/1, but like /50 and just a different style than the standard.

So funny story. I have one /50 Howie Long from last year’s Topps that came bent in half that’s been sitting under my deskmat for about a year. Got slightly flatter, so maybe I can get it flatter that way. I’ll have to give it a try.

Yeah. And for some of them, it’s cheaper too. Especially for base. Not sure why someone graded base other than to just add it to a collection, but maybe thought it would go up in value faster?

Touche. My favorite of those are the Wild Card brand cards. “It’s a 1/1!” Yeah, because you changed the shade of red in the background and added an apple in the pigs mouth…

It’s not super tough to find, but it’s not super easy either. It’s an ALT art, so the prices have been slowly rising. This started out as a pretty good deal. The seller did let me dispose of it however I wanted, so maybe I’ll make a decoration or something out of it. I’m not even sure I can get it out of the toploader without cutting it out.

I’ve seen a couple folks add them to the profile info but that isn’t really what that spot is supposed to be I don’t think. I think they’d be better off right along side the social profiles.

I picked up a couple of his Onnit art cards a while back after they came out. And I picked up 10 of the 1st pick Topps Now cards hoping for a serialized one but all I got was the regular ones. They’re nice cards with a pretty decent production value.

For sure! Part of the issue is that we teach a required personal finance class so that takes a lot of our time for a department of 2.

Each card in each set is only in that set. So, they won’t keep printing the same card in each set. They do what they call Echos that are serialized versions of previous set cards, but then some rarity and I believe they change the art as well.

But, yeah, once the print run is over, they print no more.

It really does. I keep trying to get admin to let me teach an entrepreneurship class, but they don’t think enrollment will support it. I keep trying anyways.

It’ll suck you in pretty quick. I’ve played a few games online and its a pretty decent game to play as well. The art on the cards is what got me though. There was a bit of discussion around it due to their using some ai to complete them but its all got real artists tied to it as well.

I remember when chipper was a rookie. So much hoopla. I mostly stopped watching baseball after the strike in 94 tho so didn’t really keep track of most of the players from that era.
