For me it’s this really clean Deion Sanders metal universe card when he was with Cincinnati. I plan on grading it one day but that’s one I’m holding for Deion’s signature

Dollar bins are one of those places where you can still get that old-school treasure hunt feeling. And Warrick Dunn is one of my all-time favorite Bucs, so I’d be digging through those bins hoping to stumble across one of his cards too. Finding a $15 card for a buck is the kind of find that makes the whole hunt worth it. 😂

At that point I’d be sweating before I even opened the first pack lol. I’ll have to get some gloves for when someone actually opens it lol

So the price actually even creates more scarcity as far as the after market goes

Yeah, exactly. If it’s an inactive player, I don’t mind sending during the season. But for most active players, I think the sweet spot is getting them submitted early enough that they hopefully finish during the offseason. That can mean lower upcharges, and more importantly, you already have the cards back and graded when the market heats up. If you’re planning to sell during the season, I’d rather have them sitting in my hand than sitting at PSA.

Yeah, I think that’s the tricky part. There really isn’t a universal dollar amount because it depends so much on the player and what the card is.

Hey, a case of toploaders and sleeves may not be as photogenic, but that’s the kind of prize that’s going to get used constantly!

Oh, Garbage Pail Kids would be a fun one! lol The nostalgia factor alone would probably have me going down a rabbit hole.
And TV/movie autos are a great choice too because you can really build around characters instead of just chasing the biggest names. There’s something cool about having an autograph from a character you grew up watching.

I got a couple Wembys that I think could be 10s I may send in soon because those GOATS can be pricey and if Wemby is becoming a baby GOAT, his prices could be like the others one day. I def don’t want to invest into the crazier low numbered stuff but I think if you got some clean 10 rookies of his those will age nicely without a huge price point to obtain

That’s awesome progress! Once the local card shop is willing to help promote it and you’re already getting vendors reaching out through that connection, it sounds like the word is really starting to spread.
And doubling the interest for the next trade night while tripling the vendors is HUGE. That’s the kind of momentum you want to see before launching the actual show. You’re not just trying to put an event together anymore you’re building an actual local collecting community around it.

It’s very effective as just a backpack but the added bonus of card space. Def reccommend
